Ingredients: 1 Package Firm Tofu
3 Tbs Vegan Butter
2 Tbs Minced Garlic
Hot Sauce of your choosing (amount varies on your liking)
1-2 Tbs Agave or Sweetener of your choice
1/4 Cup Green Onions
3/4 Cup All Purpose Flour
3/4 Cup Unsweetened Non-Dairy Milk
3 Tbs White Vinegar
Panko Bread Crumbs
Press our your tofu. I will usually wrap it in a paper towel and set it between two plates with cans on top of it for about 10 minutes.
Pre-heat your oven to 425 Degrees F. Prep your dipping station with 3 mixing bowls. In the first, mix together flour and salt. In the second, whisk together your milk and vinegar. In the 3rd, your nutritional yeast and panko bread crumbs. I don't have a measurement for these as I start with a good amount and add more as needed.
Once your tofu is pressed, cut your block in half length wise. You will now have two of the same sized squares. Cut those squares diagonal to make triangles. Cut those triangles in half to make the size pictured above. If some of your triangles are very thick, slice them into 2.
Get your baking tray ready with cooking spray or tin-foil and a little olive oil so the tofu doesn't stick. Take your slices and dip them in the flour, than the milk, and finally bread them with the bread crumb mixture. Do this until they are evenly coated.
Bake your tofu squares for 15 minutes, than flip and cook for another 15.
Once you flip your tofu, begin making your garlic buffalo sauce. Bring a medium sized sauce pan to medium heat and melt 2 Tbs of butter. Add in your 2 Tbs of garlic and cook for 2-3 minutes. Next, add in hot sauce to your liking, sweetener of your choice, green onion slices and the remaining table spoon of butter. Let simmer for 2-3 minutes than bring to low heat.
Once your tofu is browned and crispy, remove from oven. Add tofu into your buffalo mixture one or two at a time to coat evenly. Set them back on the baking tray and prepare to your liking. Enjoy!
